Prepare to be PAMPERED!

NOVEMBER 29, 2008 -

This year Eden's 6th birthday was on Thanksgiving so we had her party on the following Saturday. I had mentioned how fun it would be to have a "SPA DAY" birthday party! She was sooooo excited about that! Thanks to the Dollar Tree, I got plenty of fun favors to fill a bag for each girl! I enlisted my mom to help with all of the different stations! They all had so much fun!

The girls just starting to show up... McKenzie, Eden, Haylie & Sydney (sisters).

Grandma Karen (my mom) and Eden. I hope you like your hair wrap, mom!

In each of the girls bags there were:

Hair Wrap
Lip Gloss
Nail polish
Emery Board
Bath Crystals
Lotion
Moisturizing socks
Ring Pop
Candy Necklace
When the girls got here, we had them put on the hair wraps. They all looked FABULOUS!
My mom sat down with them in a circle and they all tryed "SATIN HANDS" a system from Mary Kay to make your hands feel like satin... go figure!

Hannah and Anne (sisters) at the "NAIL STATION" where my mom painted their nails and added decals if the girls wanted them!

While three girls were at the nail station, Haylie, Eden and McKenzie were at the
"PEDICURE & MASK STATION" with me! First we did a foot scrub, then applied lotion and put on their new moisturizing socks.

Next, we did cucumber stress masks and eased the puffiness around their eyes with some cool cucumber slices... the girls LOVED this one! Their little faces were too small to keep the slices on. They kept on sliding off either side of their faces. They were all giggles!

I enlisted Oliver to help me with anything I needed. He was a GREAT helper. He helped me empty the foot soak tubs and even got clean towels for me to use. Since Sydney, Anne and Hannah had gotten their manicures FIRST, I asked Oliver if he would like to scrub their feet! He was like, "WHAT!?!"... but did it anyways, through laughter and smiles! He did get paid in the end I will have you know!

Here we are at the "MAKE UP STATION". I was going to put on their make up, but my mom said to just let them do it themselves, they would have more fun with it! I agreed. Ollie went above and beyond when he even applied makeup to his friend, Sydney. He actually did a wonderful job!

Eden applying her make up. My friend brought over some Mary Kay samples for the girls to use. That way they wouldn't be sharing bacteria. YUCKTASTIC!

Opening presents. That reminds me... have I sent out Thank You cards yet?

Eden and a GIANT tube of lipstick filled with lots of girly stuff that I would have loved when I was a kid. It's fun to see myself in Eden...
*MAKE*A*WISH*

HOPE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL 6th BIRTHDAY, EDEN! WE LOVE YOU!

HALLOWEEN 2007

I was lucky enough to have Meghan watch Jaren so that I could help with Eden and Ollie's class parties. (THANKS AGAIN!!!) Eden's started at 10 am. First they walked through all of the classrooms in the school to show off their costumes. Eden saw Oliver in the artroom during the parade. They came back to the room and they sang some fun songs and played games, like pass the pumpkin. Each child had a pumpkin from their field trip to the pumpkin patch that they were to decorate and bring back to school for the pumpkin judging contest. Afterwards they each had a picture taken with their pumpkin. Most pumpkins were the work of the parents, I noticed. Eden was sad because she thought the kids would laugh at hers. I told her that hers was unique and she should be proud that she did it all by herself. They ate pizza for lunch and then packed up to go.

I babysit McKenzie everyday and so I just kept her and Eden at the school and sat by the front doors of the school to wait for the older kids' parade to come by. Oliver was so funny! I still just kill myself laughing every time I think of him as Pee Wee Herman! (The kids in his class didn't know who he was supposed to be, but the teachers and parents knew!!) After the parade we went upstairs to help with Oliver's class party. We got a cute class picture of all of them in their costumes. It was a really fun day!

Before we left, I wanted to make sure that Oliver's former teacher, Mrs. Klein, was able to see him all dressed up. There were several teachers standing in the hallway by the office and when we got there, April (Mrs. Klein) asked him to laugh and do the dance for her. We all circled around him and started singing "Tequila". He danced and the teachers were dying laughing!!! He must have done it 4 or 5 times for different teachers and even the principal! (The next day, during conferences at school, the school counselor said that Oliver's costume was hands down the best costume of the day!)

That night we met up at the Jolley's home and went trick or treating in their neighborhood. The kids were only out for a little over an hour and they had TONS of candy! It was a bit chilly and Jaren was getting hungry so I headed home after about 25 minutes. The neighborhood is great to go trick or treating in because so many people have their lights on! On the way back home, not many lights were on. I wonder if the "Trick or Treating" days are fizzling out. I sure hope not! I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!

A "Chef" that likes to be "Pampered"...

Well, today I had my long awaited Pampered Chef party. I had originally planned it for like a month or so ago, but our whole family was sick. So, today was the day. We made yummy Jerk Chicken Nachos and Cran-Raspberry Fizz. They were both really good! I LIKE FOOD... Anyways... I MAAAAAAY become a consultant... I've been thinking about it. But, who knows... I'd like to help in the finance department of our marriage and I think it may be fun to work with... well... FOOD... something that I love! :) Hehehe. I used to sell PartyLite Candles and Accessories, but it got to be too expensive and I really didn't have much help with my higher ups. It was a really hectic time back then, so I stopped. I think that more people go for cooking utensils and whatnot, more so than candles, so maybe I'd reach more people that way. Anyways... thanks to all of you who came!!! I hope you all had fun. It was great to have you in my home! Happy Cooking!
