JUNE - Live at 9 - Checker and the Bluetones

Tonight after I babysat Bella, Meg asked if I would like to join her and her family for a night of music, food and dancing!!! The weather was GORGEOUS for it! The band played strictly oldies music which I LOVED and the kids loved dancing to! I was just dying laughing! We just brought some chairs and blankets and parked it for the evening! We got some yummy food to share while listening to the music and being entertained by Ollie and Eden. Jaren danced a little bit, but not much. Meg and I stood in line forever to get a tenderloin sandwich and I am NOT lying when I say that it was as big as the paper plate we were given!!! It was really good!!! :O) I had such a fun time with Meg and my family! What a wonderful evening!!! It didn't even cost a cent to get into... but the food made up for that! We'll definitely have to do that again this summer!

Women's Choir & Scrap Night

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Tonight was a fun-filled night out with the girls that I desperately needed! It all started at around 6:20... (It was supposed to start at 6 pm, but since I had to wait for Ed to get home to watch the kiddos AND our van has been dead with a flat tire in the driveway for like 2 weeks now... it was more like 6:20 when the fun really began...)

I drove to church for our new Women's Choir that Naomi, my sister-in-law, put together. She is a music teacher by day and thought that it would be fun to form a group of ladies to sing together during the week. We had a lot of fun and it reminded me of Jr. High when I was in lots of different music groups. I was in 7th grade Women's Choir, 8th grade Women's Choir and Mixed Swing Choir. I sang alto throughout my days in the choirs at school, but never really learned how to properly read music. I'm really excited that she's going to actually teach us things about music that we otherwise wouldn't probably learn! I'm really excited about this! :o)

Choir practice got over at about 7 pm and then Krista and I headed over to Diane's house for our scrapbooking night that we go to once night each month. We get to meet with other ladies who share our love of scrapping and giggle and act like 13 year olds! Oh... it's sooooooo much fun! :o) I love that I can spend a little money each month to expand my scrap stuff, get together with other ladies and destress and also to get creative and make things with my own two hands! I just love it AND I truly feel that I NEED it in my life! I'm blessed with a husband who agrees! Ed always lets me do what I want and is just awesome about it! Tonight we had to choose a Background and Texture paper that we wouldn't normally use in our scrapbooks. She wanted to show us that we could make our page pretty even by using paper that we wouldn't ordinarily use! It was so much fun!

Sing... Sing A Song... Sing Out Loud... Sing the Words Wrong... huh?

Everyday, the little J-man and I sing little ditties together! I lay him down on the ground and sit in front of him and we sing and do actions with the songs. I sing him some Primary Songs, Church Hymns, Children's Songs and lots of action rhymes! It seems like he's really enjoying himself and he's full of smiles!

Today I made up a little rhyme with some actions and it goes a little somethin' like this:
"Over... Over... Up and Down,
Kick your feet up off the ground,
Raise your hands up to the sky,
Give a kiss and say 'Bye Bye'!"
So... the actions go a little somethin' like this:
I take his hands and pull him to one side "OVER" and then pull him to the opposite side "OVER. Then I raise his arms up over his head "UP" and down by his side "DOWN". I grab his feet and kick them in the air. (after a while, he started doing this action on his own!) Then I grab his hands again and raise them up over his chest. I kiss his belly and shake his hand like he's waving good-bye!
I love being able to have some alone time with him in the morning before Eden gets home! I have the TV off and we just sit and play together. He's a really good baby, although we do have our fussy days when I want to rip my hair out in frustration! He's either more predictable than the others... OR... we just know what we are doing as parents now that we have three children. Who knows... I'm trying to enjoy this time with him as much as I can. Time sure slips away from us!
